Managing Director

Brenda Hearn is a healthcare transformation advisor with over 25 years of experience supporting complex clinical systems initiatives across Canada. She brings deep expertise in clinical information system design, implementation, and optimization, with a strong focus on aligning technology to clinical and operational workflows.

Brenda has played key roles in major digital health initiatives, including CST in British Columbia, Lumeo in Ontario and OPOR in Nova Scotia, where she supported organizations such as IWK Health in transitioning to modern clinical information systems. Her work focuses on enabling successful implementation and long-term adoption — helping organizations move from project delivery to sustainable operations through practical design, strong stakeholder alignment, and workflow-driven solutions.

Through Tantalus, Brenda works alongside and supports experienced delivery teams, providing active advisory and guidance to ensure consistent, outcomes-driven execution across engagements.

Johanna Bonilla, MD
Johanna Bonilla, MD, MASc
Medical Director

Johanna Bonilla is a physician executive with close to two decades of experience helping healthcare organizations deliver large-scale digital transformation—ensuring that technology translates into real clinical adoption, safety, and measurable outcomes.

She has led the clinical strategy and physician engagement for enterprise EHR programs at scale, supporting thousands of clinicians across hospitals and ambulatory care in Canada and internationally. Her work consistently drives rapid adoption and sustained use by aligning governance, workflows, and clinical practice.

Johanna was a central clinical leader in one of Canada’s largest digital health transformations at Vancouver Coastal Health, progressing from Director of Provider Adoption, Engagement and Design to Associate Chief Medical Information Officer. She led physician engagement, clinical workflow design, and enterprise adoption at scale—driving successful implementation and sustained use across thousands of clinicians.

Her recent work focuses on the safe and effective integration of artificial intelligence into clinical environments, including AI-enabled documentation, decision support, and the governance frameworks required to ensure clinical trust and accountability. She brings a pragmatic approach to AI—grounded in clinical reality, risk management, and measurable value.

Previously, she held senior roles with global health technology organizations, leading clinical transformation, product strategy, and system design across multiple countries. Trained in general medicine and surgery, and with advanced degrees in health informatics and engineering, Johanna brings a rare combination of clinical credibility and system-level thinking. Through her work, Johanna continues to shape how healthcare organizations adopt, govern, and realize value from digital systems—placing clinicians at the centre of transformation and ensuring that innovation delivers meaningful, measurable impact.

Sally Turner is a healthcare transformation advisor supporting organizations across Canada in the design, implementation and optimization of clinical information systems. She brings senior leadership experience from British Columbia’s Clinical & Systems Transformation (CST) Project https://cstproject.ca/, one of Canada’s large digital health initiatives. Her work focuses on helping organizations move from implementation to sustainable operations — supporting CPOE initiatives, strengthening adoption, and enabling the transition from project-based delivery to operational models with clear governance, prioritization, and capacity alignment.

Through Tantalus, Sally works alongside and supports experienced delivery teams. Rather than traditional staffing, she provides active advisory and oversight to ensure consistent, outcomes-driven execution across all engagements.

Her perspective is shaped by both deep professional experience and lived experience navigating complex care systems as a parent — driving her commitment to more connected, efficient healthcare.
